Movie Review - Cinderella Man

Cinderella Man, staring Russell Crowe & Renee Zellweger is a fantastic story inspired by the life story of Jim Braddock. Braddock was a promising light-heavyweight contender who was basically forced into retirement after a string of losses. To make matters worse, the losses coincided with the great depression forcing him to do whatever it took to provide for his family.
As far as synopsis' go, that's all I'm going to give you because I personally hate reading movie reviews and basically finding out about the whole movie!

I must admit I went to this movie with a bit of skepticism simply because of the number of "inspired by a true story" type of movies there are out there now. I mean, how long is it before we see a movie about "The Chicken Who Crossed The Road" - inspired by true events! My skepticism however was quickly met with enjoyment as I watched director Ron Howard unveil a story dealing with the three phases of life - Dream, Struggle, Victory.

Howard seems to have a way of pulling at your heartstrings at all the right times, but never quite going over the edge where it becomes ridiculously sentimental. The scenes in the ring are incredible, and with Russell Crowe's acting don't be surprised to find yourself cheering for Braddock out loud in the theatre!

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and highly recommend it!
